The gnu, the yak and the pot bellied pig.

The rodeo comes to town.

There's a contented gnu lying on the patch of grass outside the vets  office . It's surrounded by three equally contented yaks. In the empty lot behind the hardware store there's a Vietnamese pot bellied pig and four Shetland ponies. A camel grazes on the trees planted along the avenue leading to the supermarket car park.

'' Do you think they keep the animals chained up ? " I ask. 'The font' looks at another camel wandering into the open doors of the garage where the local undertaker keeps his hearse.   ' Doesn't look like it  '  comes the reply .

  1. The word 'rodeo' appears to have got lost in translation.

  3. Another crazy day in deepest France profonde! At this point, it seriously wouldn't surprise me if I read that you found sasquatch and a unicorn having a drink in the cafe with the beer and absinthe crowd. ;)

  5. I did not expect to read about a yak and a gnu and a camel on your blog. Now a pot bellied pig, maybe, possibly sniffing out truffles.

  6. I agree with 'Louise' there has to be a joke here and it makes me wonder what the 'cowboys' for this rodeo look like?

  7. We don't have any gnus, yaks or camels in the rodeos around here... This must be some production! I hope they don't leave any animals behind when they leave. Although the thought of a new blog chronicling your life with a pot bellied pig does amuse me!

  8. Enjoyed reading the tales of the seasonal festivals and the rodeo.~ Love the braided horses tails...~ And your title immediately made me think of Aesop's Fables. ;-) The arrival of Fall always signals the beginning of the "Festivals" it seems - no matter where you are. Must be the cooler temps that prompt them.

  9. there is no doubt a rhesus monkey somewhere...
in rodeos there are the riders and the ridden upon.
the monkey will probably ride the pig.
