Pirates of the Caribbean

A new recipe. Salmon en croute for lunch. ' The font ' , still in that post-Christmas " I've put on a kilo in weight ' routine , has a tiny slice. Angus is asked if he wants the rest. It's at times like this you miss four legged gourmands in the kitchen.

Much activity around the salle des fetes. The ladies of the Village Fleuri Committee clearing up after Saturday nights New Year festivities. We left early when Jean-Luc and his singing accordion started on the sentimental ballads . Time to go when the mayors wife , overcome by emotion and the old farmers homemade wine, could seen dabbing at her eyes with a hanky . It seems the villagers finally left in the not so early hours of Sunday morning.

Madame Bay, as guardian of the village hall kitchen , standing in the car park overseeing the tidying up. Red pantaloons, black boots, paisley turban and a voluminously frilly white blouse. Gypsy Rose Lee meets Pirates of the Caribbean. Practicality France profonde style.

  2. Glad you had a great time, up until Jean-Luc sang "I did it my way!!"
Can you freeze some of the salmon en croute for another time? Or have you finished it all already??

  3. This is one of those outfits that I really wish I could have seen a photograph of!

I thought that was some kind of crazy bread. There's a fish in there? Holy mackerel!

  7. I do enjoy reading about Madame Bay's costumes, she clearly marches to the tune of a different drummer and I generally swing between shaking my head and admiring those types. I fall more towards admiration when it comes to your saintly turbaned friend

So wanting a dog to eat the pastry fish .... I can't decide if that means it tasted good or not. It looks wonderful .
