All well.

A late night arrival after a long delayed flight from India. Due to snow in Munich what should have taken twelve hours took more than twenty.

More tomorrow but yes, we did find St.Thomas, his tomb , a variety of improbable relics and what remains of the oldest church in the world. We also stumbled across an ancient silk weaving village . The locals say it made the cloth for the shroud of Turin . This reeks of good marketing rather than having any semblance to historic accuracy . They charge accordingly.

The saintly Jain lady with the hospital for dogs and the school for blind girls are both doing well.

Angus can report that Indian McDonalds don't sell beef patties but do excellent chicken McNuggets.

  1. Didn't know you could use excellent and McNuggets in the same sentence...

  2. So happy to see you back safe and sound. Get some rest, get over the jet lag, and then bring us up to date on your travels. A toute a l'heure. (sorry no accents on my keyboard)

  7. So good to hear from you, and that you are safely returned after what sounds like interesting travels. That dog looks very comfortable in the fashionable doggie coat.

  8. Horrendous trip home for you. Time for relaxation and the simple life of France profunde. Does the Jain woman care for dogs only or any animal in need? Did you bring home any "relics".
P.S. We know, for you, things won't stay relaxed and simple for long.

  9. Gracious. McDonald's really is everywhere, isn't it? Just this morning The Songwriter was commenting on an article he was reading in the paper about their latest concoction here.
"Do they go out of their way to name them something unappetizing?", he asked, after reading about Fish McBites.
"I suppose it could have been Fishy McBites, which is a bit worse", I replied.

So happy the saintly dog lady is doing well. Bless you both for helping.
And I want that top sign for my garden.

  10. Who knows, maybe we saw each other in Munich? I was stuck there, too, both on my way to Rome and on my way home again. At first I thought it was hilarious, there was just 5 cm of snow on the ground or less and it made a huge mess. In my country, Finland that is, that amount probably does not even count. I thought the little tractors driven first in a queue, then in a circle, and then side by side along the runways were rather cute. :-D
But after I realized my precious few holiday hours in Rome were spent stuck in Munich, it wasn't so fun anymore. ;-)

  12. Chaos at a GERMAN airport due to snow?
    Surely some mistake.
