A merry Christmas to everybody !

Eight thirty on Christmas morning. The bakers already crammed full of harried fathers and over excited toddlers collecting their buches de noel. To help with the rush two extra staff on duty behind the counter ( mother and mother in law ? ) .

At the cafe under the arcades the beer and absinthe crowd  on their third beer of the day.  The waitress in her apron with the flashing lights .  The motability scooter has tinsel on its handlebars.

The fountain by the war memorial covered in a mountain of  foam. Evidence of the rugby clubs midnight swim.

Home to find twenty red headed chaffinches squabbling over yesterdays stale croissants.

A merry Christmas to everybody !

  2. Merry Christmas Angus and 'the font'!

I love reading all your posts about your life in France and hope that one day I can read about you having PONs again, too.
My own miniature polar bear Diesel went to Heaven last summer and this is the first Christmas for my new puppy Merlin. It is so nice to see him explore everything with enthusiasm and always positive attitude. Hope you can experience it soon, too.

  4. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family!! I love the buche de Noel, but I had to go on currency converter to satisfy my curiosity as to what a Euro is to a Canadian dollar. Oh. However, I'd happily pay as they all look rather delicious!

    Joyeux Noel!

  8. Edward and Apple received a squeaky Santa from Liberty.
It was a gift from a friend who owns cats and therefore smelled incredible.
    They are in heaven.
    Happiest of Christmases to you!

  14. Merry Christmas to you, the Font and your entire family!!!
How on earth do you choose just one of such gorgeous looking buches de noel? Or does the Font give you explicit instructions when you go shopping? I get carried away just looking at the photos.
Hope you enjoy all the time spent with your visiting family members, as you embrace each other and share experiences missed.
