A very special place.
Off travelling for a few days. On the way to the airport we stop at a small market. A greengrocer , a flower seller and a fresh faced young couple selling macaroons and chocolates. A queue has formed at their stall ( always a good sign ). Both macaroons and chocolates delicious. The chocolates , made that morning, particularly so. Both macaroons and chocolates, we're proudly told, made without preservatives.
The fresh faced young couple have a kitchen and are saving up for the deposit on a shop. In the meantime they sell at the roadside. The girl comes from Marseille. Sometimes the winter cold makes her cry but this is the life and the dream they want. When it comes to a passion for food France remains a very special place.
Talk again on Friday.

A delight around every corner.
ReplyDeleteThe bread stall at the local Farmer's Market always has the longest line. Expensive, but excellent bread.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
and what a place it is…no other has been as respected for it’s food and WHERE it comes from or how it is treated:
