Jumping cows. Soft food.

First light. The ' bad ' farmer rumbles down the lane with a large bale of straw for the two cows. They scamper across the field after him . Not every day you see cows jumping with joy. They tuck in lustily. He seems to be looking after them well. Possibly too well.

Late down to the bakers. By eight o'clock the shelves almost bare. The remaining selection of cakes appetizing but unadventurous. Two lemon meringue pies bought for lunch. A large slab of chocolate with red ' buttons ' is considered but rejected.  'The font' has to return to London for two days of root canal treatment . As a consequence  ' hard ' food is off limits. Pasta for lunch and dinner.

The electrician phones to say he's found the problem with the upstairs dishwasher. '' It's your interruptor ". Angus has no idea what an 'interruptor' is but thinks it sounds plausible. The electrician promises faithfully to bring it back next week.

  1. The interruptor? Do they really have those things, or is this an excuse for a big bill.

  4. I don't know how you make any one choice at the bakery, everything always looks so delicious.

I hope all goes well at the dentist for 'the font!'

  5. "The fatted calf" springs to mind with the extra care the cows are getting....at least the farmer is now taking his responsibilities seriously.
Did the electrician give you a quote on fixing/repairing the interruptor (whatever that is)? Hope it's reasonable.
With careful meal planning, the Font can still enjoy lots of soft foods, even smoothies. Wishing her the best with her root canal surgery.

  6. An interruptor?????????? Oh, well, I did not know that my microwave had a transmission until it broke. The turntable would not go around. Who knew??? Best wishes for "the font" and her dental work. Ouch!!!

  7. Angus,

I hope the font is well and that she manages to have a bit of fun while in London for the root canal.

All those delicious treats, I do not know how you manage not to weigh a ton.

    Have a wonderful weekend, Elizabeth

  8. I have a feeling the farmer brought something different than straw to get such a reaction from the cows. Hay, perhaps?

An interrupter? Heck, it sounds like something my dad would say when he's talking electrical mumbo jumbo! Hopefully it's a cheap fix and no new dishwasher is needed!

  10. Good luck to The Font on her root canal treatment. Maybe something bubbly to ease the aches.

  11. I wonder if Angus jumps for joy at the bakery?Well wishes to the font. Will be soft foods at my house next week also, daughter having wisdom teeth removed, I am going to try very hard not to come down with sympathy pains requiring that I eat pints of chocolate ice cream. Wilf wouldn't agree but I think chocolate is better than coconut . . .and hard to resist if it is in the house.

  12. The chocolate dotted with red and blue "things" look interesting. The baton de Jacob equally so! Thank goodness the farmer is now looking after his cows properly. Hope 'the font' feels better soon!
